The basics:
I am a UNC Alumna, I graduated in May ‘25 with distinction as a Morehead Cain Scholar and a Parr Center for Ethics fellow. I majored in both journalism and philosophy with a minor in PPE (philosophy, politics and economics). I worked as a corps member in Teach For America within Philadelphia from the time I graduated till the end of February 2026. Throughout my life I had a variety of academic and professional experiences, ranging from jobs in the service industry, to economic and educational consulting to social media marketing. As someone with lots of passion and drive but very little certainty of direction, I am currently exploring what other avenues my love of exploration and communication can take me down.
The background:
I grew up in Boulder County, Colorado, to an immigrant family in an immigrant community. My first passion was for the visual arts, I was constantly drawing or crafting, and my passions expanded quickly into language learning and cultural exchange as well as an unadulterated passion to learn and understand the world around me. I have an itch to discover, understand and communicate my findings that has served me well in my academics and professional roles.
The transitiveness:
In philosophy I specialized in mathematical logic and reasoning as well as meta-ethics and its relation to policy; in journalism I specialized in audio-reporting and narrative style photography. I am a Hearst top-ten finalist in audiojournalism, a Morehead Cain Scholar and won the 2024 RTDNAC Best Student Feature Story award. I reported for and then executive produced Carolina Connection for two years, I’m a painter and polyglot— with 3 languages of fluency, one of proficiency and 2 more in the beginning stages. Regardless of what project I am working on, I work with purpose, authenticity and a strive for excellence.
