how i got here

i have always loved visual art

it was an outlet for me to express myself as a child and a tool i still use to process emotions

when i got to highschool i decided i wanted to use this tool to tell stories that went ignored

i bought my first camera when i was 16 and started taking people portraits and natural landscapes

once i got to college, i became a go to contact for people trying to jazz up their instagram

i did all my portrait work on a rebel t-7 and the majority of the photos were posed in a parking garage on my school’s campus—no studio in sight

once i got to the end of my junior year of college, most of my journalism major had been focused on audio journalism and broadcast— but i needed to take another intro class, so i took a photojournalism class

i had never taken photography too seriously, it was a fun outlet to take photos of the people around me in moments wher ethey felt beautiful. i enjoyed seeing the confidence and smile when they looked at the raws

i saw the work lof those around me and knew my technical work was not up to parr, and my shyness would get in the way

but, i continued challengeing myself and am continueng to challenge myself, realizing that I could make taking a beautiful photo of a person into a career and push it forward with a narrative aspect

my hope in the next few years in to continue learning and growing as a photographer so that some day my art and collabrations can shed light on and bring change to the issues that push me to get up int he mlorning to make a better tomorrow
